Exploring

On Friday we decided to check out Vegas's famous Ethel M. Chocolate Factory. We planned our day so that we would get there on time to see people working in the factory and take the tour, but we were bummed when we got there and they told us nobody was working because of Easter weekend. We still got to see the factory, sample chocolate and walk through their cactus garden, which was small, but pretty cool! However, that all took just about 30 minutes. We had to make our 20 minute drive worth our time so we tried to think of something else to do, when we saw a sign advertising Wetlands Park nearby. So we went to check it out. This place was kind of a surprise. It was a big grassy, green area with a trail through it, where you could see wildlife. The walk took us about an hour, we were the only ones there so it was so peaceful and quiet, and so nice to walk through lush, green landscape. We saw a couple of big white cranes, and lots of rabbits and ducks. But the biggest shock, was the huge river we came across. In the middle of the desert we found a place with huge cotton trees, lush green plants, wildlife and a huge river! So exciting for someone like me who loves nature and feels totally deprived out here. Awwww...it was like a breath of fresh air!
