General Conference Weekend

We had a great General Conference weekend. We spent some time with Nathan's family at his aunt and uncles beautiful new vacation home in Eden, Ut, which is up Ogden Canyon by Pine View Lake and Powder Mountain Ski Resort. I love it there, it's so beautiful!! I told Nathan that he needs to buy me a house there when he makes lots of money...ha ha!
Then we spent time in Kaysville with my family. My dad wanted to take all the grandkids to the zoo for his birthday. So we had a day at the zoo, and it was so fun now that all the kids are at an age where they are walking, talking and excited to see new things. Jackson LOVED the animals!! He recognized a lot of them from all of his animal books we have been reading. He would squeal, laugh and start making animal noises when he saw them. It was really cute! I'm so glad that he gets to spend more time with his grandparents and cousins. You can see I got a few pictures of Jackson and Wesley giving eachother hugs. I think it's so cute when they huge, I tell them to do it all the time.
Sunday morning we had our famous general conference breakfast of belgian waffles with raspberries, maple syrup, ice-cream and whip cream...oooohhh so yummy!! And wild Alaskan salmon for dinner.
I am so grateful that we are close to family. I consider two hours close compared to 7 hours when we were in Vegas. It's so nice that we can just make a quick weekend trip for things like this, and it's so nice to be by Nathan's parents. Jackson loves seeing them, and we LOVE having babysitters! Now if Jamon and Stacy (Nathan's bro and wife) can just sell there house in WA and get here, that would top it off.

Sounds like a fun weekend and I love the collage of pictures! Take it from someone who has always lived 20+ hours away from family since I've been married, two hours away from family is super close. Enjoy it!
