Labor Day Weekend

Most of my family (minus Alan and Nina, they just had a baby) went to our cabin in Logan Canyon for Labor Day weekend. It was SO nice to get out and do something fun! And when my family plays, we play pretty hard. On Saturday, we went to Bear Lake, played on the beach and did some jet skiing (well, not me). I love Bear Lake and was sad to have to leave a little early because of the wind.

Jackson loved getting dirty and playing in the sand. He is getting better about being in the water, but he is still cautious. He goes about knee deep and splashes around, but he doesn't like it when we try to get him to go much deeper. In his own time, I guess.

I am 35 weeks pregnant here. Yes, I know my stomach is HUGE!! It doesn't look like it could possibly get any bigger, but it does. I swear this baby is a beast.

That night we had a yummy dinner and a fire for s'mores. Jackson devoured two of them. Yuck! That night he was sick throwing up most of the night. I don't know if it was something he ate or not, but it was Jackson's first time ever throwing up, and it made me so sad for him. :-(
Nathan was so good at taking care of him and cleaning up the many messes. He was on top of it! Good job daddy! :-)

Sunday, we went to a singles, college ward in Logan, which brought back many memories of my college days. We all rested and took naps, and then we went on a little hike. I think it was Pineview trail, you get to see some of the oldest trees around the area.
After the hike I started having contractions that lasted for a few hours, and gradually got worse and about five minutes apart. Just when we were thinking of going to the hospital in Logan they stopped. Whew! I didn't want to have my baby in Logan. However, now I would welcome any contractions....maybe I should go on another hike. ;-)

Monday we went to Minnetonka Caves. They are so awesome inside! I was a little nervous about the 800 plus steps we were going to have to hike through the cave, after my little episode the night before, and I was only sort of laughing when my mom and an EMT were joking about having to deliver my baby in the cave on "Labor Day." But I did just fine, and I felt more sorry for Nathan who had to carry Jackson the entire tour because he still wasn't feeling that great.

After the caves I went back to the cabin with Ali and the kids while everyone else went on a two hour four wheeler/motorcycle ride. When they got back they were all covered head to toe in dirt.

Daddy took me and Jacks on a little ride when he got back. Jackson LOVES motorcycles and four wheelers. He absolutely loved that! I had to sit in a weird position because of my huge belly, and I was sore from it the next few days.

I love this picture of the two thumb suckers in the family. So adorable!

It was such a fun trip. We did so much in such a short amount of time, it took me and Jacks the entire next day to recover. I can't believe summer is over, but I Love fall and am ready to have this baby. Well, I'm physically ready, my body is in constant pain and I'm so uncomfortable all the time, I just can't wait to get her out! But I don't know if I'm mentally ready, I get a little nervous when I think about the exhaustion that comes with a new one, and I worry about how Jackson will cope with the change. But ready or not, she is coming soon, and despite my concerns, I am really excited. Keep us in your prayers that all will go well!

Great pictures! I would love to have you send me some. :)

I am sure Jackson had some sort of bug because Lauren, Paul, James, and I all had the same kind of bug during the next week. Yuck! I am just glad not everybody was sick at the cabin. Too bad Jackson was!

My guess is that baby girl will be here on September 29th at 3:47pm.
