My birth experience: (for my own records)
I was dilated 4cm and 85% efaced at my 37 week appointment, and was having irregular contractions. Then at 38 weeks, Dr. stripped my membranes and expected that I would go into labor within the next few days. Of course, I expected the same thing and was frustrated when nothing happened. At my 39 week check up I was dilated 5 cm, and still having lots of irregular contractions, but my body was just not going into labor. I was SO miserable, contracting all the time and having such bad back and rib pain I could no longer sleep, and could barely function. So I was so relieved when my Dr. said I could come in the next day to be induced. Only the frustration just worsened when we made the 4 a.m. call to the hospital to check availability and they said that they were full and couldn't take me. The next day and a half were the longest, most stressful days I can remember, just waiting to hear from the hospital telling us we could come in, but instead getting turned down. I really did not handle this well, (but what 9 month pregnant woman would?). We were finally able to get into hospital the next day at 3:00 pm. I thought that time would never come!!!
It was very busy while I was there, so we had to wait around for a while before I was able to get my epidural and get induced. But when I did finally get induced I was only in labor for an hour and pushed for about 10 to 15 minutes and she was here!! My Dr. had an emergency c-section going on at the same time I was in labor, so his resident had to deliver me, but she was awesome! When my baby came out, so did a HUGE wave a water, which totally caught me by surprise, but I felt a million times lighter after. They put her on my chest the moment she came out, then cleaned her up in the same room so we could see, and then I was nursing her about 30 minutes after. It was so awesome, and so easy!! The resident really tried to prevent me from tearing this time, but I still tore to a 2, but that is nothing after experiencing a 4th degree tear!
Her stats:
She was born October 6, 2010 at 9:47 P.M. in Pocatello, Idaho
She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz.
19 1/2 inches long
head circum. of 13
(sorry, all pics got blurry when I made them into a collage)

Jackson was absolutely smitten with her from the moment he saw her. He always wants to hold her, kiss her, and look at her. He talks to her in a high pitched, baby voice which I think is hilarious, and he calls her "My baby" or "My baby Lila." He is very in tune with her and always tells me when she is crying, and tells me that she is hungry and that I need to hurry and feed her. He is so sweet!

She is such a good baby! She is pretty content, and really doesn't cry a lot. She is already putting herself to sleep a lot of the time for her naps during the day, which is amazing I think, because it took a lot of work for me to be able to get Jackson to do that. She is a night owl though! She is wide awake in the evenings, and doesn't really go to sleep until 10:00 at night. She sleeps anywhere from 3 to 5 hour stretches at a time at night, which is pretty normal I think for this age. We have adjusted pretty well I think, and I was back to the gym and a lot of my normal routine after the first couple of weeks.
Her two week stats:
9 lbs. 8 Oz. (78%)
21 1/2 inches (83%)
35 cm head (19%)

Lila has added so much love and happiness to our family. We feel very blessed to have two beautiful, healthy children!
